The recipient points their phone camera at it and watches a private video you recorded — up to 90 seconds — in their browser, with no app and no account.     You record

    In the app or from your camera roll, up to 90 seconds. The kids singing, Grandpa’s toast, you talking to the camera for a minute. We compress it for you.

    We print the code

    A QR code and the caption “Scan for something special ❤️” go on the back of the card, next to your written message.

    They scan

    Phone camera, tap the link, the page opens. iPhone or Android, no app, no login. Your family name, the headline, the message, and the video.

    Delivered, scanned, watched — on your card’s timeline, with a notification for the first watch and any reaction they tapped: ❤️ 🥹 😂.

A Christmas card they can actually hear from you

A printed card can carry a photo and sixty words. It can’t carry your voice, the way your kids say “Grandma,” or the dog knocking over the tree. The video is the part of a LifeCard people replay — and the reason a LifeCard doesn’t go in the recycling with the others. Texts disappear. LifeCards get kept.

It’s also the honest answer to distance. If you can’t be at the birthday, the graduation, or the first Christmas in the new house, ninety seconds of you looking at the camera is closer than a phone call they have to schedule.

Private by design

The recipient page says it plainly: “Private link — anyone with this LifeCard link can watch. It isn’t listed anywhere.”

  • The QR code holds one link with a random 22-character code. It isn’t derived from your name, theirs, or anything about the card.
  • The page is never linked from our site and asks search engines not to index it. Without the card, there is no way to find it.
  • No login, because the person scanning is your mother. She shouldn’t need a password to watch her grandchildren.
  • The video’s real location is never exposed; the player gets a short-lived signed address each time the page opens.
  • No advertising cookies and no third-party analytics on the page. Scans are counted so you can see it was watched, and that’s it.
  • If a card goes astray and you’d rather its link were off, email support@lifecard.app. A switched-off link shows the same neutral message as an unknown one.

Recording tips

  • Face a window. Daylight in front of you, not behind.
  • Hold the phone upright. The page is built for a vertical video on a phone.
  • Say their name in the first five seconds. It’s the difference between a video and a message.
  • One take is fine. The stumble is the charm. Ninety seconds is a ceiling, not a target — thirty is plenty.
  • Let the kids go last. Whatever they do will be the part that gets replayed.
